Toucan House is our newest vacation rental home on Sanibel Island, Florida. It is newly renovated and freshly furnished to meet your every need. Toucan House has over 1,900 feet and is a short walk to Bowman's Beach. For a home this size and in this location, Toucan House is so competitively priced, we think you will not want to consider any other lodging for your monthly vacation.
Rustic and romantic, Toucan House is large enough for 6 vacationers and cozy enough for only 2. It is a self catering accommodation where a couple or a family will find wonderful comfort and seclusion, yet only minutes by foot to the best shelling beach on Sanibel.
Toucan House is a holiday home for all seasons. Central air conditioning makes it a cool place to spend summer, several quiet and lovely ceiling fans make spring time a breeze, and for those winter nights, there’s a working wood burning fireplace!
Original art work from many countries we have visited add to the home’s aesthetic appeal, and kids love the loft bedroom with its own screened in porch.
As with our condo, the aim was to create a resort hotel level of convenience with all the comforts of home.

Q) What Is Toucan House?
A) Toucan House is a privately owned vacation rental home on Sanibel Island. It is located in Sanibel Bayous on the quiet west end of Sanibel, closer to Captiva.
Q) What restrictions are there in renting Toucan House?
A) Toucan House is only available month by month for a 28 day minimum vacation rental. It is strictly nonsmoking. Children are welcome, but families with toddlers or physically challenged children or adults should be aware that the house is a flight up.
Q) How large is Toucan House?
A) Toucan House is over 1,900 air conditioned square feet, with a large lanai off the living room, master bedroom and kitchen, and an additional small porch off the loft bedroom. For your sunning pleasure, there is also a deck down a flight of steps from the first floor lanai.
Q) How many bedrooms and bathrooms does Toucan House have?
A) There are two bedrooms on the first floor (which is actually the second level, as Toucan House is a stilt home) and a loft bedroom on the second (third level). There are two full baths.
Q) What are the sleeping arrangements?
A) There is a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen in the guest bedroom, and two full beds in the loft bedroom. There is also a queen sleep sofa in the living room.

A) Toucan House has central air and ceiling fans throughout.
Q) How far from the beach is Toucan House?
A) Toucan House is about an 8 minute walk to Bowman’s Beach on the quiet, west end of Sanibel.
Q) Are towels supplied?
A) Both bath towels and beach towels are supplied, along with beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach toys.
Q) Is there a TV or stereo in the house?
A) Toucan House has four TVs with DVD players and a stereo. There are also books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles and games for your enjoyment. Entertainment is geared for various ages from small children to mature adults.
Q) Is there a phone?
A) There are three phones in the house, but you must use a phone card to access long distance. We provide an answering service on the main phone in the kitchen.
Q) Can I use my laptop?
A) Toucan House now offers high speed wireless internet.
Q) Where do I park my car?
A) There are four parking spaces on the property... Future plans include parking under the house.
Q) Where do I do my laundry?
A) Toucan House has a brand new washer and dryer in the laundry room.
Q) What if I have a problem while I’m there?
A) Toucan House is managed locally. If there is a problem of any kind, our manager on the island will take care of it immediately.

Any pets allowed will necessitate a non refundable pet fee. The fee ranges from $250 to $400 contingent on type of pet, number and other factors.
